Bonded Leather VS. Real Leather

- Nov 19, 2019-

Genuine leather is made from entire pieces of animal hide and costs much more than items made with the bonded material. It's hard to tell the difference between the two, as once an item is made with bonded leather the appearance and smell are nearly identical.

Bonded Leather is far less expensive than real leather but because of its real leather content, sellers can use the word “leather” in their descriptive materials. Due to the shredding process, bonded leather is less durable than genuine leather. A sheet of bonded leather is one perpetual length of tiny scraps meshed together, and therefore not creating a solid surface. ... With proper care and gentle use, a bonded leather compendium can last as long as two to three years without issues.
